Overview

As part of the "Art of Noise" exhibition in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the OJAS Listening Room installation by Devon Turnbull became the stage for an auditory experience curated by Banksia. Drawing from the rich traditions of Indian Ragas and the improvisational spirit of jazz, Banksia delivered a transformative live set captured by the Wastrel team that bridged cultural and musical worlds. The performance concluded with the first-ever live showcase of his highly anticipated jazz EP, Here, Somewhere, enveloping the audience in a unique blend of acoustic mastery and modern innovation.

Our Role

Wastrel Studio served as the production lead on the project, with founder Oaday Awadalla handling all on-set execution and creative delivery:

  • Cinematography – Set up all cameras and coordinating around active Gallery envionment in San Francisco
  • Photography – Served as the on-set still photographer, capturing behind-the-scenes and portrait imagery of Banksia
  • Post-Sync – Handled audio and media syncing in post, ensuring all multi-camera and audio sources were aligned and organized for the editorial team
